Cinema
One Originals is the annual flagship
event of the number 1 cable channel
in the Philippines, Cinema One.
In 2005, the channel ventured into
original digital movie productions
under this project to showcase the
talents and diverse voices of the
local independent cinema. Every
year, Cinema One provides grants of
P1M each to seven films projects
chosen from hundreds of submitted
screenplays. These film projects are
meticulously selected by a jury
composed of representatives from the
film industry and Cinema One. They
have achieved local and global
recognition, have been nominated and
won awards in film festivals here
and abroad. Cinema One Originals has
produced award-winning titles such
as Confessional, Huling Balyan ng
Buhi, Rome & Juliet, Tambolista,
Yanggaw, Sa North Diversion Road,
Imburnal, Dose, Altar and others.
